Bernard A. “Bernie” Lamb, 76, of Seneca, passed away Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Joliet Area Hospice Center.

Private interment will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL with military honors at a later date. Seals-Campbell Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Bernie was born January 7, 1943, in Ottawa, to Greg and Marie (Hellman) Lamb. In 1968, he married Mary Zarka of Ottawa, who preceded him in death in 1989. Then, on January 24 1997, he married Cheryl L. Sallee of Ottawa who survives.

He served in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant First Class and was active in the Vietnam War. He retired from the Army after twenty years of service. Following his military career, he worked in the telecommunication industry and was employed by Lucent and Sprint until his retirement. He loved to fish, go on cart rides with his dogs, and spend summers in Wisconsin.

Survivors include a daughter, Christine Jumper of Plainfield; three stepchildren, Lisa (Todd) Burns and Gina (Ron) Arroyo, both of Ottawa, and Brett (Terra) Turner of FL; six grandchildren, Cole, Shawna, Christian, Brett Joseph, Chloe, and Kyle; a great-grandchild, Rachel; two sisters, Patti Fredrick of Lockport and Julie Petre of Marseilles, cousins including, John Lamb of Seneca and Joe Lamb of WI; good friend, John Leach of Ottawa; and his dogs, Bella and Colonel.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Mary; and his dog, Scruffy.

Memorials may be directed to the Veterans charity of the donor's choice.
