Seneca High School's January Students of the Month

Seneca High School teachers and staff selected January Students of the Month:

Student of the Month: Hannah Daggett

Hannah is the daughter of Scott andHolly Daggett, of Verona. She plans to go to Illinois State University. She is active in Conservation in Action, Drama Club, Technology Student Assocation, Wind Ensemble and National Honor Society.

Role Model: Trey Thorsen

Trey is the son of Dave and Michelle Thorsen, of Morris. Trey will be playing football at Central College in Pella, Iowa, and studying exercise science. He is active in football, basketball, track, FFA and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

At the beginning of summer, Trey will participate in the Illinois High School Shrine All-Star Football Game. It was an honor to be selected to play and support children, with all sponsor money given to the Shriner’s Hospital.

Trey would like to thank all the teachers who voted for him to be the January Role Model. He really appreciates it. He also would like to thank the coaches who have helped him become the man and player that he is today. Trey would like to send a big thank you to Mr. Don Brown and Mr. Terry Maxwell for taking a chance and trusting him to start his junior year. Without those guys having faith in him, he wouldn’t have had a chance to go play college football. He would like to thank all his teachers along the way who have helped him become so successful.

Most Improved: Haley Silliman

Haley is the daughter of Keri and Darin Close, of Seneca. Haley wants to pursue a career in nursing, starting at Illinois Valley Community College. She has been looking at colleges in Wisconsin. She is currently busy with her clinicals and volunteers at two local nursing homes; she plans to work in nursing homes at the start of her career.

Rookie: Sierra Culbertson

Sierra is the daughter of Traci Guerrero and John Paul Johnson, of Seneca. Sierra’s post-high school plans are to become a story artist for an animation company such as Pixar or Dreamworks. She is active in Speech Team, Drama Club, Art Club and the school musical.
