Some folks in La Salle County captured a string of lights moving through the night's sky between 9 and 10 p.m. Sunday night.
These are the Starlink satellites, which often travel in a group as a straight line. They were launched by Elon Musk's SpaceX in an attempt to provide worldwide internet.
For those who missed Sunday's showing, the satellites may make another appearance in the north to northeast sky with "poor visibility" between 9 and 10 p.m. Monday, according to a website that tracks the satellites. The next "good viewing" time is expected 4:48 a.m. Friday by looking from northwest to southeast. These times and dates are subject to change.
AccuWeather, however, is predicting a 51% chance of showers and overcast skies tonight in the Streator and Ottawa area.
