DePue Flood Relief has raised almost $15,000 for residents

Fund will help residents whose properties were damaged in Thursday's flash flood

Shari Marquez has set up a relief fund on Facebook for the residents of DePue.

Thursday night, many DePue residents suffered damage to their houses and property from a flash flood that caused flowing water down streets and sidewalks, into yards.

"They will need tons of cleaning supplies and help repairing/cleaning up the damages," Marquez said on the DePue Flood Relief Facebook page. "Some of these residents do not have flood insurance, so it will be an expensive recovery for them, as some have lost furnaces, hot water heaters, etc. This is just something we are setting up so the wonderful people asking what they can do, can help out as many residents as possible with whatever they need!"

The campaign had $14,265 of the $15,000 goal as of 5 p.m. Sunday, with 228 people giving to the fundraiser over past three days.

To donate, search "DePue Flood Relief" on Facebook or go to https://www.fb.com/donate/537051977176908/10157140044355846.
