The Villas of Holly Brook in Streator is expected to be completed in the next couple of months.

The Streator Plan Commission recommended a final plat for the project Monday for City Council approval. The plat is necessary to put on file with La Salle County, City Engineer Jeremy Palm said.

Palm said contractors are finishing interior work on the $9 million, 50-unit private assisted living facility and a 28-unit memory care residence on the north side of Route 18, across the street from the Central Church of Christ on the city’s east edge.

Contractors are paving the parking lot and creating a new public road that will serve as one of two access drives to the facility.

Construction started on the Villas of Holly Brook in spring 2019.

The new facility is expected to bring about 60 new jobs.

The 50,000-square-foot living facility in Streator will include a cafe, spa, theater, four-season room, activity room and a landscaped courtyard. The one-story facility will feature 43 one-bedroom units at 560 square feet each, plus seven two-bedroom and two-bathroom deluxe apartments from 833 to 1,105 square feet each. The site also will have common areas for family gatherings, private dining, social areas and a wellness center.

The 18,000-square-foot Reflections Memory Care area’s 28 suites will range from 328 to 464 square feet, including private bathrooms, and will offer individualized health care plans.
