Ottawa Police Benevolent Association begins back to school shopping fundraiser

The Ottawa Police Department's Benevolent Association has begun its 2020 Back to School Shopping fundraiser.

The back to school shopping program is designed to provide less fortunate children with basic items needed to attend school. The project is aimed to promote positive relationships between children and officers.

The Ottawa Police Benevolent Association doesn't employ professional fundraisers and no one should receive a call asking for a donation. Past donors and businesses may receive a donation request in the mail asking for their support. All of the donations collected go to the Ottawa Police Benevolent Association. In addition to the back to school shopping, the association also donates to area youth activities and other charitable projects.

Donations can be dropped off at the Ottawa Police Department or mailed to the Ottawa Police Department's Benevolent Association at 301 W. Lafayette St., Ottawa, IL 61350. Contact the department at 815-433-2131 to arrange for a pick-up donation.
