PHOTO: Marseilles Lock recently dewatered for 2020 project

The 2020 Illinois Waterway consolidated lock closure rolls on as Marseilles Lock in Marseilles was dewatered last weekend. Once the chamber was pumped down, equipment staging began for the upper miter gate replacement that will take place at the site.

Starting July 1, locks at LaGrange, Peoria, Starved Rock, Marseilles and Dresden Island closed to facilitate needed repairs and maintenance. The closures, which are being conducted simultaneously to limit impacts to navigation, are scheduled to last through late October.
