Millington Bridge over the Fox River reopens

The Millington Bridge that carries County Highway 31 (East 30th Road) over the Fox River opened Tuesday. Pier construction was completed on the road.

The combined project between La Salle and Kendall counties cost about $1.6 million.

The bridge at the counties’ border initially was closed for more than two years after the Illinois Department of Transportation shut it down in May 2017. It had reopened with restrictions, but it was closed in July for the latest work.
