LETTER: Justice Kilbride has earned and deserves our vote

To the Editor:

We seem to be at a time within our society wherein parties advocating for their respective positions often seem unwilling to listen with an open mind to or have respect for other parties' opposing positions.

Especially in such times, we believe it is important to retain a Supreme Court Justice who will listen with respect and appropriate judicial temperament to all sides of an issue, diligently review all legal positions presented, and independently research the issues.

We also believe it important to retain a Supreme Court Justice who will consider all issues impartially, have a keen legal intellect and make determinations on the issues with the utmost integrity.

We believe Supreme Court Justice Tom Kilbride is such a Supreme Court Justice who has earned and deserves our vote that he be retained as an Illinois Supreme Court Justice. We also believe Justice Kilbride is a common-sense judge who has devoted his career to ensuring the justice system works for all. He believes in transparency of the court system which is important in many people’s minds. Justice Kilbride is also backed by a broad, bipartisan coalition of supporters.
