Streator High School dispels rumor, after going into soft lockdown

The Streator High School administration, along with its school resource officer, found a rumor Thursday about the possibility of a weapon in the school to be false.

Superintendent Scott Cameron said in a statement to the community the school went into a soft lockdown. Some time after, the lockdown was lifted and the student’s resumed their routine schedule.

“This situation was handled quickly with the support of staff, school resource officer and administration,” Cameron said.
