Pedestrian hospitalized after Peru collision

A vehicle struck a female pedestrian Sunday night at Shooting Park Road and Walnut Street in Peru.

Peru police responded at 7:10 p.m. Sunday. The woman was taken to OSF St. Paul Medical Center in Mendota where a Life Flight helicopter landed. She was later taken to OSF St. Anthony in Rockford with a shoulder or arm injury.

The car involved was towed. An Illinois State Police accident reconstructionist was called to the crash scene to assist in the investigation. The roadway was closed as police investigated.
