The Princeton-Illinois chapter Daughters of the American Revolution held its annual celebration of the season Friday, Dec. 5, 2024, with a potluck at Christ Community Church. The annual program was writing Christmas cards to the veterans at the Illinois Veteran’s Home in La Salle.

The veterans home dedicated staff cares for 85 veterans. One of the missions of the Princeton-Illinois Chapter is to say “thank you” to current and former men and women of the military by acknowledging and recognizing veterans' service, sacrifice and commitment to the preservation of our country’s freedom.

DAR provides the opportunity to contribute to the community, honor Patriots, preserve American History, make lifelong friendships gain leadership experience and establish a network in the community and around the world. Any woman 18 years of age and older may join by documenting her lineage to a man or woman who aided the cause of American Independence through military, civil or patriotic service.
