Malden and DePue have played their way to a BVEC championship showdown Thursday night at Malden.
No. 1 Malden beat No. 5 Ohio 44-24 while No. 2 DePue beat No. 3 Ladd 34-26 in Tuesday’s semifinals.
The Musketeers and Spartans will meet for the championship game at 6:15 p.m. Thursday following the third-place contest between Ohio and Ladd at 5 p.m. Malden and DePue have split their two games this season, each winning on the other’s homecourt.
This is the first BVEC finals appearance for Malden in school history.
In opening rounds games on Saturday, Ohio defeated Princeton Christian Academy 45-9, Malden beat LaMoille 46-16, Ladd upset No. 3 Neponset 36-32 and DePue downed Bradford 38-6.
