Adam Waite had a near double-double with 18 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists for Earlville. Easton Fruit added 17 points, with Gavin Guelde contributing nine.
Serena 64, IMSA 53: At Serena, the host Huskers (5-2 overall, 2-1 Little Ten) received 20 points apiece off the hands of Cash Raikes and Payton Twait in the LTC victory over Illinois Math & Science Academy.
Beau Raikes added 16 points for the victors.
Hinckley-Big Rock 68, Somonauk 42: At Hinckley, the visiting Bobcats received 10 points from Brock Sexton in a Little Ten Conference defeat.
Leland 65, LaMoille/Ohio 50: At LaMoille, the visiting Panthers earned the Little Ten Conference victory.
Johnsburg 62, Sandwich 58: At Johnsburg, the visiting Indians (1-7 overall, 0-2 Kishwaukee River) saw a late comeback effort fall just short despite a 20-point, 13-rebound double-double from Dom Rome.
Griffin Somlock added 16 points and Kai Pon 10 for Sandwich.
Fieldcrest 57, Eureka 50: At the Colmone Classic in Spring Valley, the Knights earned a spot in Saturday’s 7:30 p.m. championship game against La Salle-Peru with the seven-point win over their Heart of Illinois Conference rivals.
Eddie Lorton scored 23 points to pace Fieldcrest.
Girls wrestling
Gwaltney takes title at ‘The Munch’: At “The Munch” Invitational hosted by Pontiac, Streator’s Lily Gwaltney captured the championship of the 115-pound bracket, going a perfect 3-0 after two byes including decisioning Canton’s Chloe Hedges 7-2 in the championship bout. Her two previous wins were technical falls.
Ottawa’s Juliana Thrush won her first two matches after a bye to earn a spot in the 235 bracket’s championship match. She finished runner-up via a second-period pinfall loss to Prairie Central/Chenoa’s Chloe Hoselton.
