Girls bowling
At Peru: The La Salle-Peru girls shined in their own Cavalier Classic at the Super Bowl on Saturday, taking first-place honors with a score of 5,353. Runner-up Rockford East scored 4,596 with St. Bede seventh (3,906) and Hall eighth (3,835).
For the Cavs, Kamryn Oscepinski 1,145) was third Camryn Perra (1,107) fourth, Anna Ricci (1,052) seventh, Kaitlyn Miller (1,037) ninth and Leah Ricci 10th (1,012).
St. Bede’s Maddy Fabish edged Rochelle’s Cassidy Vincent by one pin for top honors with 1,191 series.
Payton Miller rolled an 891 to lead Hall.
Boys bowling
At Peru: La Salle-Peru (5,939) placed fourth in the Cavalier Classic at the Super Bowl won by Naperville North (6,017).
The Cavs were led by ninth-place Grady Sandor (1,243) and 10th-place Marquis Lorenzi (1,228).
St. Bede’s Haiden Ator was the top area finisher, placing third at 1,355.
Dawson Huffman led Hall with a 1,171 series, placing 20th.
Alex Holland topped Mendota at 1,143, placing 26th.
Boys basketball
Amboy 62, LaMoille 29: Amboy’s Quinn Leffelman scored 27 points and hit eight 3-pointers, tying Chris Payne’s single-game school record for 3s in the win. Eddie Jones also scored 24 points for the Clippers.
Girls basketball
Princeton 45, Kewanee 32: Camryn Driscoll sank 9-of-10 free throws on the way to a 19-point game to lead the Tigresses to Three Rivers East Saturday matinee victory.
Also for PHS (6-2), freshman Payton Brandt had eight points and Keighley Davis added six points.
At Polo: It was a Crazy 8 kind of day for Earlville as the Red Raiders split a pair of games at the Polo Tournament.
Earlville lost to Milledgeville 35-29 in the first game. Bailey Miller scored eight points with eight rebounds and Jacey Helgesen also netted eight points.
In Game 2, Earlville 41 beat Forreston 41-16. The No. 8 again was magic for the Raiders with Natalie Hall scoring eight points with eight rebounds, Jacey Helgesen scoring eight points and Audrey Scherer grabbing eight rebounds with seven points.
Mendota 50, Streator 26: The Trojans beat their old NCIC rival at Pops Dale Gymnasium in Streator.
Fieldcrest 43, Cissna Park 41: The Knights (4-5) picked up the victory at the St. Joe-Ogden Shootout, led by Macy Gochanour’s 25 points and 15 by Pru Mangan.
Wrestling
At Plano: Kane Dauber (122) and Casey Etheridge (165) head a list of six place-finishers for Princeton at the Plano Invite.
Also for Princeton, Ace Christiansen (144) was second, Kaydin Gibson (126) and Ian Morris (215) were fourth and Brayden Bickett (106) placed sixth.
The Tigers placed third out of 20 teams.
Mendota’s Gavin Stevenson (120) and Angil Serrano (285) both placed sixth.
Men’s basketball
Bryant and Stratton 90, IVCC 60: The Eagles lost on the Hilltop in a Saturday matinee.
Women’s basketball
