Kip Cheek to be recognized as an IHSA Most Distinguished Media at Mendota

Has been covering Mendota sports since 1984

Kip Cheek of the Mendota Reporter will be inducted into the IBCA Hall of Fame.

Kip Cheek, who has been covering high school sports at the Mendota Reporter since 1984, will be honored with the IHSA Distinguished Media Service Award at Mendota High School on Tuesday, Dec. 17.

The ceremony will occur before the varsity boys basketball game between Mendota and visiting Rock Falls about 6:50 p.m.

Cheek will be presented with a plaque and then have an opportunity to address the crowd.

He is one of five media members being recognized this school year.
