Princeton girls beat Streator in tournament opener at Ottawa: Thursday BCR Roundup

Girls basketball

Princeton 54, Streator 22: Camryn Driscoll scored 18 points and Keighley Davis added 14 to lead the Tigresses to victory in their opening game of the Ottawa Holiday Tournament on Thursday.

Freshman Avaya Koning added eight points for the Tigresses, who will play Plainfield Central at 6 p.m. Friday.

Princeton 22, St. Bede 17 (F/S): Princeton also won its sophomore opener at Ottawa behind Alice Scruggs (9 points) and Madie Gibson (7). PHS will meet L-P in the semifinals at 6:15 p.m. Friday.

Boys basketball

Dixon Faith Christian 56, Princeton Christian Academy 51: Trustin Crew scored 10 of his game-high 25 points in the third quarter to lead the the Eagles on a 22-8 charge for a 37-32 lead, but they couldn’t hold on for the win Thursday at Howard Hoffman Memorial Gymnasium.

Julian Mucha added 15 points for PCA.

Galva 68, LaMoille 40: The Lions fell at home in nonconference play to the Wildcats.
