Streator trio sentenced to prison from drug, weapons bust

Trio charged after search of residence on South Harrison Street

Avelino Perez, of Streator, was sentenced to 20 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on Dec. 16, 2024, the longest sentence among three individuals convicted on drug and weapons charges following an October 2023 search warrant operation by the Livingston County Sheriff's Department on South Harrison Street.

Three Streator residents were sentenced Dec. 16 to prison after being arrested in a drug and weapons bust in October of last year.

On Oct. 30, 2023, the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a residence on South Harrison Street in Streator.

The operation led to the arrest of Avelino Perez, Daniel Perez and Abelino Perez Villasenor, who were taken into custody on numerous drug and weapons charges. All three have been held at the Livingston County Jail since their arrest.

At a hearing in Livingston County Court, Avelino Perez was sentenced to 20 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, Daniel Perez was sentenced to two years and Abelino Perez Villasenor was sentenced to 12 years.
