Here is The 2024 Times All-Area Boys Soccer Team.
First team
Jackson Brockway, Somonauk-Leland-Newark, D, jr.
An outstanding defender for the Bobcats, Brockway recorded six assists and was a unanimous Little Ten All-Conference pick. This is Brockway’s first appearance on our All-Area Team.
Connor Diederich, Ottawa, GK, sr.
A Pirates' captain, who took over in net this season, Diederich recorded four shoutouts and stopped half of the penalty kicks he faced. He was named to the Interstate 8 All-Conference team and makes his first appearance on our All-Area Team.
Joe Hoekstra, Streator, D, jr.
Named Streator’s Defensive Player of the Year and also to the Illinois Central Eight All-Conference squad, Hoekstra used great vision and control to help anchor the Bulldogs' backline. This is his first appearance on our All-Area Team.
Silas Johnson, S-L-N, D, sr.
A Bobcats' captain, Johnson was part of seven shutouts while recording a pair of goals and an assist. He was named to the Little Ten All-Conference team, as well as IHSSCA Section 3 All-Sectional. He was a Times All-Area honorable mention pick as a junior.
Jorge Lopez, Ottawa, F, so.
A Pirates scoring threat who draws a lot of attention from opponents and creates opportunities for others, Lopez scored 13 goals and was an I-8 honorable mention selection. He was a member of the 2023 Times All-Area Soccer Team’s first team as a freshman.
David Paton, Streator, STRK/MF, sr.
The Bulldogs Offensive Player of the Year, ICE All-Conference honoree and IHSSCA Section 3 All-Sectional, Paton scored 11 goals and passed for 10 assists. This is his first appearance on our All-Area Team.
Finn Rosengren, MF, jr.
The Huskers' co-Most Valuable Player as well a Little Ten All-Conference selection, Rosengren score a pair of goals and passed for three assists while also playing solid in the middle of the pitch. This is his first appearance on our All-Area Team.
Noah Russow, Streator, F, sr.
The 2024 Times Boys Soccer Player of the Year, Russow posted 15 goals and 13 assists for the Bulldogs. He was an ICE All-Conference and IHSSCA Section 13 All-Sectional honoree. He was a second team Times All-Area pick as a freshman and a first team selection as a sophomore and junior.
Evan Snook, Ottawa, CMF, sr.
A 3-time Interstate 8 All-Conference selection, Snook led the Pirates with 15 goals and seven assists. He played with an unparalleled intensity every time he stepped on the field and helped Ottawa secure another winning record. He was a Times honorable mention pick as a freshman, named to the second team as a sophomore and a first team honoree as a junior.
Austin Todd, S-L-N, F, sr.
A Bobcats’ captain, Todd found the back of the net 15 times and helped set up seven other tallies. He was a Little Ten All-Conference honoree and a IHSSCA Section 3 honorable mention selection. This is his first appearance on our All-Area Team.
Andrew Vogel, Streator, GK, sr.
One of the most animated and reactive keepers in the area, Vogel provided multiple examples throughout the season with acrobatic, near impossible to believe saves. He posted nine shutouts, 208 saves and a goals against average of 2.60. This is his first appearance on our All-Area Team.
