University of Illinois Extension – Bureau, La Salle, Marshall and Putnam counties is offering the following testing-only sessions and certification program for pesticide applicators.
Certification is required to apply restricted-use pesticides. All sessions are offered in cooperation with the Illinois Department of Agriculture. Pre-registration is required. No walk-ins will be allowed. Participants will need to bring a calculator. Calculators must be simple function calculators. No smartphones or smart devices will be allowed.
2025 testing-only sessions:
La Salle County:
- 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Jan. 15 (private applicator test only), Illinois Valley Community College, Room C-316, 815 N. Orlando Smith Road, Oglesby.
- 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Feb. 4 (private applicator test only), Suite 2, La Salle County Extension Office, 1689 North 31st Road, Ottawa.
Bureau County:
- 9 a.m.. to noon Wednesday, Feb. 12, all tests offered, Bureau County Extension Office, 850 Thompson St, Princeton.
- 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, March 26, all tests offered, Bureau County Extension Office, 850 Thompson St, Princeton.
Marshall-Putnam County:
- 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Feb. 5, all tests offered, Marshall-Putnam County Extension Office, 509 Front St, Henry.
- 9 a.m. noon Friday, March 7, all tests offered, Putnam County EMA Building, 1120 Old Illinois-26, Hennepin.
There is no charge for the testing. Manuals and workbooks can be purchased online or at local Extension offices. Extension offices are located in Princeton, Ottawa and Henry. Registration is available online through IDOA, visit go.illinois.edu/BLMPAg for more information.
