Organization prepares for Healthy Heart event in February

A volunteer rings the bell for the Salvation Army outside Hobby Lobby on Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2023 in Joliet.

The Streator Leading Ladies met Dec. 19 at Chipper’s Grill.

Members rang bells Dec. 12 for the Salvation Army. Plans are being made for the Healthy Heart event to be held Thursday, Feb. 20, at OSF Center for Health-Streator. This event will be open to the public and more information will follow.

Members brought items for the Guardian Angel as part of their monthly project.

Get well cards were signed for Jessica Stayton and Pam Riss, and a sympathy card for Amber Miller’s father-in-law.

Jean Sorensen and Pam Riss were recognized for their December birthdays, and Dianne O’Hern and Carolyn Erler for their January birthdays.

A lottery exchange was conducted.

In attendance were Jill Newbold, Dianne O’Hern, Shirley Gipson, Carolyn Erler, Donna Stone, Dodi Callister and Amber Miller. President Jill Newbold conducted the meeting. Correspondence was read from Streator Unlimited.

Information was reviewed for the 2024-25 club handbook.

The organization will not meet in January, and its next meeting will be Thursday, Feb. 20.
