Henry-Senachwine 45, Parkview Christian 16: At the Earlville Holiday Tournament on Friday, the Mallards earned a Saturday afternoon championship date with Flanagan-Cornell/Woodland with the lopsided victory.

Kaitlyn Anderson scored 23 points and Brynna Anderson had 11 to lead Henry-Sen.

FCW 69, Hinckley-Big Rock 40: At the Earlville Holiday Tournament on Friday, the Falcons soared to the victory led by a 41-point effort from Ella Derossett.

Emma Palaschak added 15 points in the victory.

Aurora Christian 35, Earlville 30: At the Earlville Holiday Tournament on Friday, the host Red Raiders were defeated despite a seven-point, 10-rebound outing from Bailey Miller and six points apiece from Natalie Hall and Addie Scherer.

Somonauk 44, West Carroll 14: At the Earlville Holiday Tournament on Friday, the Bobcats rolled to the triumph paced by 23 combined points from Abby Hohmann and Macey Kinney.

Amboy 49, Marquette 41: At the Amboy Tournament, the Crusaders were defeated by the hosts despite 17 points and six steals from Kaitlyn Davis along with nine points from Kelsey Cuchra.

Newman 56, Mendota 18: At the Amboy Tournament, the Trojans were defeated.

Resurrection 54, Seneca 49: At Lisle, the Fighting Irish were defeated Friday despite 17 points from Audry McNally, 13 from Alyssa Zellers and 10 scored by Evelyn O’Connor.

Rockridge 52, Bureau Valley 42: At the Warkins Memorial Classic in Prophetstown, the Storm fell despite eight points apiece scored by Brynley Doty, Bella Birkey and Libby Endress.

Rockridge 51, Hall 45: At the Warkins Memorial Classic in Prophetstown, the Red Devils were defeated.

Natalie Zamora scored a team-high 10 points for Hall, with Charlie Pellegrini, Caroline Morris, Ella Sterling and Ava Delphi adding eight points apiece.

Hall 62, Bureau Valley 57: At the Warkins Memorial Classic in Prophetstown, the Red Devils (Ella Sterling 19 points, Charlie Pellegrini 17 points, Bella Orozco 15 points) outlasted the Storm (Kadyn Haage 25 points, Libby Endress 13 points).

Fieldcrest 49, Putnam Co. 37: At St. Bede’s Bruins Christmas Classic, the Knights (9-5) prevailed led by TeriLynn Timmerman’s 17 points, 16 from Pru Mangan and 12 more off the hands of Macy Gochanour.

Addy Leatherman scored 18 for Putnam County (3-11).

Serena 34, Brimfield 27: At St. Bede’s Bruins Christmas Classic, the Huskers triumphed.

St. Bede 52, Sandwich 36; St. Bede 55, Orion 34: At St. Bede’s Bruins Christmas Classic, the host Bruins notched a pair of lopsided victories to move to 3-0 in their tournament and set up a Saturday showdown with Fieldcrest.

Against Sandwich, Lili McClain scored 22 points, with Savannah Bray adding seven points and 10 rebounds.

Boys basketball

Lincoln-Way Central 56, La Salle-Peru 40: In the consolation bracket of the Plano Christmas Classic on Friday, the Cavaliers trailed throughout the loss to the Knights and slipped into Saturday’s seventh-place game.

Mike Hartman with 12 points, Nick Olivero with eight and seven apiece scored by Erick Sotelo and Marion Persich led L-P.

Marmion 65, Ottawa 44: In the consolation bracket of the Plano Christmas Classic on Friday, the Pirates trailed by 14 at the half to fall to 1-2 for the tournament and head into Saturday’s seventh-place game.

Kyler Araujo’s 11 points, Dom Parks' nine and five apiece courtesy of Colt Bryson, Hezekiah Joachim and Aric Threadgill led Ottawa.

Mendota 67, Plano 52: In the consolation bracket of the Plano Christmas Classic on Friday, the Trojans prevailed to earn a place in the ninth-place/consolation title game.

Cole Tillman (18 points, nine rebounds, six assists) and Aden Tillman (20 points) led Mendota, with Drew Becker chipping in 10 points.

Morris 53, Sandwich 47: In the consolation bracket of the Plano Christmas Classic on Friday, the Indians fell to Saturday’s 11th-place game with the defeat despite triple-digit scoring efforts from Dom Rome (20 points, 14 rebounds), Braden Behringer (14 points, five assists) and Quinn Rome (10 points, eight rebounds).

Newark 66, Gardner-S. Wilmington JV 28: In the consolation bracket of the Plano Christmas Classic on Friday, the Norsemen picked up their first win of the event to head to Saturday’s 13th-place game.

Dylan Long’s 30 points along with 15 from Reggie Chapman and 11 scored by Payton Wills paced Newark.

Dwight 71, Somonauk 66: At the inaugural Seneca Shipyard Showdown on Friday, the Bobcats lost a consolation contest while the Trojans advanced to the consolation title game.

Weston Hannibal (23 points), Brock Sexton (17) and Silas Johnson (12) led Somonauk.

Marquette 65, Woodland 47: At the inaugural Seneca Shipyard Showdown on Friday, the Crusaders received a 38-point explosion from Alec Novotney and 15 more courtesy of Lucas Craig to avenge an early-season loss to the Warriors and advance to the consolation title game.

Nick Plesko (14 points), Connor Dodge (12) and Nolan Price (12) led Woodland.

Wilmington 63, Flanagan-Cornell 55: At the inaugural Seneca Shipyard Showdown on Friday, the Falcons fell despite 19 points from Connor Reed, 15 off the hands of Logan Ruddy and 11 scored by Seth Jones.

Wethersfield 51, Earlville 47: At the inaugural Seneca Shipyard Showdown on Friday, the Red Raiders were dealt the defeat despite Easton Fruit’s 20 points and 15 off the hands of Adam Waite.

Reed-Custer 71, Serena 65: At the inaugural Seneca Shipyard Showdown on Friday, the Huskers fell to Saturday’s fifth-place game with the loss.

Beau Raikes (30 points), Payton Twait (15 points) and Cash Raikes (10 points) led Serena.

Indian Creek 46, Putnam Co. 30: At the inaugural Seneca Shipyard Showdown on Friday, the Panthers fell to 0-3 at the tournament with the loss despite a team-high eight points from Braiden Bickerman.

Dwight 66, Earlville 40: Adam Waite scored 18 points to lead Earlville in Friday morning’s game at Seneca.

Seneca 56, Wilmington 29: Paxton Giertz’s 32 points paced the host Fighting Irish in Friday morning’s game at Seneca.

Somonauk 53, Wethersfield 38: Brock Sexton scored 24 in the Bobcats' Friday morning win at Seneca.

Coal City 59, Flanagan-Cornell 38: Connor Reed scored a dozen points for FCHS in Friday morning’s game at Seneca.

Woodland 66, Putnam Co. 46: Nick Plesko scored 15 points to lead Woodland, and Drew Carlson scored nine for PC in Friday morning’s game at Seneca.

Lexington 70, Serena 48: Cash Raikes' 14 points led the Huskers in a loss Friday morning in Seneca.

Marquette 52, Indian Creek 50: Alec Novotney’s 22 points paced the Crusaders to the triumph in Friday morning’s game at Seneca.

Hall 55, Reed-Custer 50: Wyatt West scored 20 for the Red Devils in Friday morning’s win at Seneca.

Brimfield 54, St. Bede 37: At the Princeville Holiday Tournament on Friday, the Bruins received 13 points from Gino Ferrari in a loss that dropped them to Saturday’s third-place game against Peoria Heights.

Elmwood 56, Henry-Sen. 40: At the Princeville Holiday Tournament, the Mallards were defeated to fall into Saturday’s ninth-place game.

Princeton 65, Geneseo 38: At Sherrard’s Mike Hutchins Holiday Classic, the Tigers were victorious led by three players scoring in double figures to earn a spot in Saturday’s fifth-place game.

Lowpoint-Washburn 66, LaMoille/Ohio 42: In Friday action at the LaMoille Holiday Classic, the hosts fell to the Wildcats to slip to Saturday’s third-place contest against football co-op partner Amboy.

Leland 66, DePue 48: In Friday action at the LaMoille Holiday Classic, the Panthers earned a spot in Saturday’s fifth-place game with the victory over the Little Giants.

Fieldcrest 65, Rockford Lutheran 54: In the State Farm Classic’s Small School Bracket, the Knights moved to 1-1 in the tournament to move into Saturday afternoon’s consolation semifinals.
