A Dalzell man will be in court Monday for his final scheduled pretrial session after allegedly setting a residence on fire with one or more people inside, according to court documents.
Perfecto Leal, 50, is accused of damaging a residence at 3:13 a.m. Nov. 30 in the 200 block of Scott Street of Dalzell, according to court records.
Leal was charged with aggravated arson, a Class X felony carrying a sentencing range of six to 30 years if he’s found guilty.
Leal is in the custody of the Bureau County Sheriff’s Office with pretrial release having been denied.
Leal’s trial is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Monday, Feb. 24, at the Bureau County Courthouse, 700 S. Main St., Princeton.
