Putnam County Community Center announces January 2025 schedule

Nonprofit provides services to seniors

Medicare Open Enrollment is Oct. 15 through Dec. 7. Each year, Medicare beneficiaries should review available Part D plans to ensure they have the best plan for their needs and that they are not overpaying.

The Putnam County Community Center is encouraging more community members to utilize its services in the new year.

The Putnam County Community Center is a nonprofit organization that provides services and programming for older adults in Putnam County and surrounding areas.

The community center will be closed Monday, Jan. 20, for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

The community center is located at 128 First St. in Standard. Go to www.pcaservices.com or call 815-339-2711 for more information. Hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

12:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9: Social hour

9:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10: Putnam County Community Center board meeting

9 to 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 13: Medicare Part B Prevention and Wellness benefits, extra help/LIS, MSP program and BA enrollment.

9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14: Free blood pressure and glucose checks

12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14: Bingo

10 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 16: Outreach Hennepin Library, 12:30 p.m. movie and popcorn.

12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21: Emergency Preparedness and Planning, sponsored by Putnam County Emergency Management and health department. Pre-register for lunch by calling 815-339-2711. NOAA weather radios will be given as door prizes.

12:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23: Adult coloring

12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28: Valentine crafts

12:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30: Agasta Christie, woman of mystery, presented by Standard Library branch.
