Hall Township Food Pantry hacked

Donors warned not to respond to emails seeking Amazon purchases

A long line of cars wraps around the Hall Township Food Pantry building for the Christmas distribution on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2024 in Spring Valley.

The Hall Township Food Pantry in Spring Valley was hacked and scammers have issued emails seeking bogus Amazon purchases.

Food pantry officials issued an advisory Monday warning donors to ignore any emails asking to assist with Amazon purchases.

“We have reported it to Comcast fraud, and they located a fake account that attached themselves to us,” read a statement from the food pantry. “We have changed our password and added an extra level of security.”
