Sheriff’s office investigates Wyanet death as suspicious

No further information shared from Dec. 22 death

Bureau County Sheriff Jim Reed announced in a May 25 press release that the construction of the Bureau County Sheriff’s Law Enforcement Center at 800 Ace Rd. in Princeton has officially been completed.

The 18-year-old man found unconscious in the 100 block of East Second Street in Wyanet is being investigated as a suspicious death, Bureau County Sheriff James Reed said in an email Wednesday.

Reed said the death still was under investigation and there was nothing more he could say at this time.

The teen, Keith Raulerson, was taken to OSF St. Clare in Princeton, where he was pronounced dead on Dec. 22, the sheriff’s office said in a Dec. 24 news release.

Police responded about 2:20 p.m. Dec. 21 to find Raulerson. Raulerson’s mother said he was found unresponsive laying on the back patio of his home.

The sheriff’s office is urging anyone with information about Raulerson in the Wyanet area between Dec. 19 and Dec. 21 to come forward. Call the sheriff’s office at 815-875-3344.
