Girls basketball
Marquette 56, St. Bede 45: At Bader Gym, the Crusaders' Kaitlyn Davis exploded for 31 points to go along with four assists and five steals in the Tri-County Conference triumph over the Bruins on Monday.
Keely Nelson added eight points and six rebounds for Marquette, with Hunter Hopkins posting six points and seven assists, and Chloe Larson seven points.
Wilmington 50, Streator 32: At Pops Dale Gym, the Bulldogs (1-19, 0-7 ICE) trailed 21-9 after one quarter, 29-19 at halftime and 46-28 after three before cutting the lead to seven before the Wildcats pulled away for the Illinois Central Eight Conference win.
Streator’s Ava Gwaltney sank a school record eight 3-pointers to finish with 24 points. Leah Krohe added six points for the Bulldogs.
Serena 60, IMSA 9: At Aurora, the Huskers improved to 14-5 overall and 3-0 in Little Ten Conference play with the victory over the Titans.
Serena was led by Jenna Setchell (18 points, three rebounds, four steals), Macy Nahler (nine points, four rebounds, two steals) and Maddie Glade (eight points).
Somonauk/Leland 37, Aurora Christian 17: At Somonauk, the Bobcats used a solid defensive effort and 16 points from Abby Hohmann in the win over the Eagles.
Macey Kinney added nine points for S/L while Leah Norris grabbed 13 rebounds.
Earlville 48, Newark 36: At Earlville, the Red Raiders — led by 16 points and five rebounds from Natalie Hall — topped the Norsemen in the LTC contest.
Earlville also received solid games from Audrey Scherer (seven points, 12 rebounds), Kyley Helgesen (seven points) and Bailey Miller (six points, 17 rebounds).
Boys basketball
Fieldcrest 50, Roanoke Benson 39: At Minonk, the Knights improved to 12-3 on the season with the win over the Rockets.
Jordan Heider and Kash Klendworth each netted 14 points for Fieldcrest, while Eddie Lorton added 12.
Boys bowling
Ottawa places 4th at I-8 tournament: At T-Byrd Lanes in Rochelle, the Pirates registered a 6,068 score to finish fourth at the Interstate 8 Conference Tournament.
Will Znaniecki led the way for Ottawa with a 1,085 series and a high game of 237. Caden Walter added a 1,053 series and a 207 high game, while Cash Fowler rolled a high game of 236.
Girls bowling
Ottawa places fourth at Sycamore: the Pirates' Kilah Figenbaum finished eighth individually with a 1,174 six-game series and 257 high game to help her team finish fourth at the Matt Clark Invitational on Saturday.
Ana Zeglis added a 1,020 series with a 214 high game, and Tessa Diaz a 186 high game.
