Serena 53, Hiawatha 15: At Earlville in the Little Ten Conference Tournament on Monday, the Huskers (16-5) dispatched Hiawatha to earn a date with Indian Creek in Thursday’s semifinals.
Jenna Setchell (eight points) led a balanced Serena attack, followed closely by Macy Mahler (seven), Kendal Whiteaker (six), Parker Twait (six) and Anna Hjerpe (six).
Indian Creek 56, Earlville 29: At Earlville in the Little Ten Conference Tournament, the host Red Raiders were sent to the consolation bracket with the defeat.
Addie Scherer (eight points, 10 rebounds) and Jacey Helgesen (seven points) paced Earlville.
Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley 42, FCW 24: At Eureka College in the McLean County/Heart of Illinois Conference Tournament, the Falcons led after one quarter and trailed by just two at the half, but were held scoreless in the third quarter to eventually fall in the championship quarterfinals.
Ella Derossett scored 14 points and Emma Palaschak six for Flanagan-Cornell/Woodland.
Marquette 51, Roanoke-Benson 43: At Roanoke in the semifinals of the Tri-County Conference Tournament, the Crusaders – now 16-8 – defeated the host Rockets and earned a date with St. Bede in Thursday’s 7:30 p.m. championship game.
Keely Nelson’s seven points and 10 rebounds, Kaitlyn Davis' 13 points and four steals, and Hunter Hopkins' 16 points, eight rebounds and four steals led Marquette Academy.
St. Bede 59, Seneca 57: At Roanoke in the semifinals of the Tri-County Conference Tournament, the top-seeded Fighting Irish were upset by the Bedans to fall to Thursday’s 6 p.m. third-place game against Roanoke-Benson.
Evelyn O’Connor’s 17 points and Audry McNabb’s 10 scored paced Seneca (16-6).
