The University of Illinois Extension invites youth to join 4-H for a hybrid junk journaling workshop to spark creativity and self-expression.
This interactive hybrid workshop will guide youth through the art of junk journaling, where they turn everyday materials into one-of-a-kind journals. Participants will explore techniques such as collage, layering, doodling and upcycling as they craft unique pages that reflect their interests, dreams and stories.
Along the way, they’ll learn how to repurpose materials, experiment with different layouts and use art as a tool for self-reflection. Whether adding photos, ticket stubs, favorite quotes or mini sketches, this workshop invites youth to turn scraps into treasures while connecting with others in a fun and supportive environment.
Junk Journaling will take place from 2 to 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17, at the University of Illinois Extension, 815 Thompson St., Princeton. Supplies are provided, and the event is free to attend. Registration is required at go.illinois.edu/junkjournal.
To request an accommodation to participate, contact Shasta Hladovcak at shlad@illinois.edu or 217-244-5812. Early requests are encouraged to allow sufficient time to meet access needs.
