Bureau Valley 47, Galva 37: The Storm outscored the Wildcats 19-8 in the third quarter on the way to a Lincoln Trail Conference win at the Storm Cellar on Wednesday.

Leading scorers for the were Libby Endress with 13 points, Brooke Helms with nine and Emily Wright with eight.

Next game for the Storm will be at home Saturday vs. St. Bede for 12:30 p.m. varsity tip.

Boys basketball

Bureau Valley 68, Wethersfield 31: Landen Birdsley scored 10 of his game-high 22 points in the first quarter as the Storm grabbed a 31-9 lead en route to Lincoln Trail Conference win in Kewanee on Wednesday.

Landon Hulsing added 17 points for the Storm (14-8, 6-0).

Tri-County Conference Tournament: The championship game has been set for Friday’s TCC Tournament finals at Putnam County High School.

In Wednesday’s semifinals, No. 1 Seneca beat No. 5 Lowpoint-Washburn 81-62, while No. 6 Marquette upset No. 2 Roanoke-Benson 63-42.

The Irish and Crusaders will meet for the title at 8 p.m. Friday at RM Germano Gymnasium.
