The Streator Chamber of Commerce has named Refurbished Treasures LLC its Business of the Month for December.

Refurbished Treasures was founded in 2015 by Lori Fornero after she left her corporate job to pursue her passion for art.

The business began with Fornero’s love of refurbishing furniture, starting with a single dining room chair. Over time, the business expanded from furniture restoration to include a wide range of home décor and unique gifts.

“I started with that one chair, and it just took off from there,” Fornero said. “The goal is always to offer quality, hand-picked items that reflect my love of home design and art.”

Refurbished Treasures is a true family business, with Fornero’s partner Bill, her two daughters, five granddaughters and father all playing a role.

The Streator Chamber of Commerce commended Refurbished Treasures for its dedication to the Streator community and consistently being a positive presence in the downtown area.

For more information, visit the Refurbished Treasures website or the store at 306 E. Main St. in downtown Streator.
