Peru Elementary School District 124 will welcome Ryan Linnig as its new superintendent in July.
Linnig brings almost 28 years of experience in education, leadership and administration, with the past 17 serving as superintendent of Dimmick School District 175, according to a news release sent Thursday from District 124.
Throughout his career, Linnig has been dedicated to fostering academic excellence, student success and strong community partnerships, according to the release. In his new role, Linnig will focus on operational efficiency; a targeted and comprehensive approach to professional development; thoughtful budget and financial planning; and success in cultivating relationships with staff, students, administrators and the community.
Lining will succeed Richard “Jamie” Craven, who has been with the district since July 2020, when he succeeded Mark Cross. Craven was the DeKalb School District 428 superintendent for three years before accepting the role in Peru. He also previously served as superintendent of Rochelle Township High School District 212.
Linnig was named the 2023 Superintendent of Distinction by his colleagues in the Starved Rock Region of the Illinois Association of School Administrators.
