IVCC Art Club to host a Valentine’s Day art sale Feb. 13

Illinois Valley Community College’s Art Club will host a Valentine’s Day art sale from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, in the college lobby.

The fine arts items and crafts are handmade by art students and faculty, including crocheted items, paintings, Valentine’s Day cards, ceramic pottery, magnets, jewelry, buttons, rubber ducks with motivational sayings and a variety of Valentine’s Day-related items. Homemade snacks also will be available.

After last fall’s successful sale, art instructor Shannon Slaight said she received several requests to extend sale hours so people could attend after work.

Faculty, staff, students and the public are welcome to the sale. Purchases are cash only. Proceeds support the art department and will fund the spring trip to the Art Institute in Chicago.
