Casa Mia is booked solid for its last week of dining and has kept busy with customers wanting to dine at the longtime Naplate restaurant a final time.
“This level of patrons is uncharted territory for our small space,” read a post Saturday on the restaurant’s Facebook page asking for patience. The post also indicated no walk-ins or reservations will be accepted this week because they’re full.
While its menu will be discontinued, Casa Mia still will be open in a limited capacity.
“We will still have our amazing high class martini/casual bar, rent out our back room for private shower/parties, and do pop-up favorite items and offer outdoor venues as we so choose. Eventually we will have gaming machines as well,” Maribeth Hoffman, who owns the restaurant with her husband Phil, wrote Nov. 14 when the announcement was made.
Phil Hoffman purchased the restaurant just before his 30th birthday. He will be 60 in May and has owned the restaurant for 30 years this April. The restaurant, a former home, is known for its intimate dining. It seats 55 to 60 people and the kitchen is in the basement with the food brought up through a dumbwaiter. The original owners, Jim and Florence Cheli, opened the restaurant nearly 80 years ago.
