Responders remind residents to check on their neighbors during extreme temperatures

The city of Oglesby opened its fire station as an emergency warming center, it announced Monday.

People who may be experiencing furnace issues or need shelter from the frigid temperatures can go to the Fire & Ambulance Building at 500 S. Columbia Ave.

The fire and ambulance service advised for residents to check on their neighbors and pets.
