GIRLS BOWLING
At Joliet: La Salle-Peru knocked down 5,654 in six games Saturday to place second in Plainfield South’s Cougar Classic at Town and Country Lanes.
Joliet West won with 6,065 pins.
Anna Ricci led the Cavaliers as she placed eighth with a 1,175.
Also for L-P, Camryn Perra took 10th with a 1,146, Kaitlyn Miller finished 18th with a 1,127, while teammate Kamryn Oscepinski was one place behind her with 1,125 and Leah Ricci was 27th with a 1,081.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
St. Bede 39, Kewanee 38: Lili McClain scored 10 of her 16 points in the fourth quarter and hit a pair of late free throws to lift the Bruins to a victory in a nonconference game in Kewanee.
Ashlyn Ehm added 13 points for St. Bede, which trailed by 10 points entering the fourth quarter.
Hall 45, Serena 41: Charlie Pellegini scored 18 points and hit 6-of-6 free throws in the fourth quarter as the Red Devils overcame a six-point deficit to earn a nonconference victory in Spring Valley.
Ella Sterling contributed 12 points for Hall (12-5).
Earlville 38, Streator 29: Kylie Helgesen scored 12 points to help the Red Raiders to a nonconference victory in Earlville.
Natalie Hall chipped in eight points and eight rebounds for Earlville.
Galesburg 49, La Salle-Peru 14: Phoebe Shetterly, Kelsey Frederick and Ashley Kawiecki each had four points as the Cavaliers lost a nonconference game in La Salle.
Orion 56, Mendota 42: Cassie Gonzalez scored 13 points as the Trojans lost a Three Rivers Conference crossover in Orion.
Ava Eddy added eight points for Mendota.
BOYS BASKETBALL
St. Bede 55, Bureau Valley 52: Gino Ferrari scored 20 points to lead the Bruins to a nonconference victory in Manlius.
Mason Ross added nine points for St. Bede.
Landon Hulsing had 15 points to pace BV, while Bryce Helms contributed 12 points.
Stockton 66, LaMoille 47: Tyler Billhorn poured in 25 points to eclipse 1,000 for his career as the Lions lost a nonconference game in Stockton.
WRESTLING
At Amboy: Mendota had five wrestlers place at the Amboy Invitational.
Gavin Stevenson placed second at 120 pounds and Komen Denault was runner-up at 132.
Cole Kleckner (144) placed fourth for the Trojans, while Corbin Furar (175) took finish and Germain Serrano (285) finished sixth.
At Morton: Caleb Plut (150 pounds) and Zach Pocivasek (157) had La Salle-Peru’s best showing at the Morton Invitational as each finished one win shy of reaching the fifth-place match.
MEN’S BASKETBALL
South Suburban 85, IVCC 73: The Eagles lost a region game in South Holland to fall to 7-12.
