La Salle-Peru senior bowler Camryn Perra has been been coming on strong as she enters the last few weeks of the regular season.

Last week, Perra rolled her first 600 series with a 612 in a win over Mendota. She also had a 557 series in a win over Hall.

Perra capped the week with a 1,146 six-game series to place 10th in Plainfield South’s Cougar Classic to help the Cavaliers take second as a team.

“Camryn has been an ideal captain for our team,” L-P coach Aaron Guenther said. “She works hard, listens to coaching and does her absolute best every night. She got her first 600 series last week and looks forward to many more this season.”

Perra answered some questions from NewsTribune sports editor Kevin Chlum.

How old were you when you started bowling and how did you get into it?

Perra: I started bowling when I was about 13 years old. I had a bowling birthday party and started liking the sport.

What do you enjoy about bowling?

Perra: I enjoy being with my friends.

What makes you a good bowler?

Perra: I do not let it get to me when I have a bad frame or game.

What is your favorite sports memory?

Perra: My favorite sports memory was going to state for bowling two years in a row.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

Perra: I would love to travel to South Downs in England since it is so beautiful there.

When coming back from a road match, where do you like to stop to eat and what do you get?

Perra: We stop somewhere different every time, but my favorite was Corleone’s Italian Restaurant. I got ravioli and a piece of chocolate cake.

What is your most played song recently?

Perra: My most played song recently is “Some Nights” by Fun.

What is a movie or TV show you never get tired of watching?

Perra: “Criminal Minds.”

What is your favorite subject in school and why?

Perra: My favorite subject is band and AP music theory because I have made so many friends and memories and the band director, Mr. Stevens, makes it so enjoyable.

What are your thoughts about your individual performance last week?

Perra: I feel my performance was very strong, particularly in having high series and games.
