Henry girls basketball rolls to victory over Putnam County: Thursday’s NewsTribune roundup

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Henry-Senachwine 48, Putnam County 19: Kaitlyn Anderson scored 16 points, grabbed 17 rebounds and swiped three steals as the Mallards cruised to a Tri-County Conference victory in Henry.

Lauren Harbison contributed 10 points, five rebounds and three steals for Henry.

St. Bede 45, Midland 29: Lili McClain scored 18 points as the Bruins earned a Tri-County Conference victory in Peru.

Quinn McClain added 11 points for St. Bede (18-12, 9-5 TCC).

United 39, Bureau Valley 36 (OT): Libby Endress scored 16 points as the Storm lost a Lincoln Trail Conference game in Manlius.

Emily Wright added eight points for BV.

Erie-Prophetstown 34, Mendota 27: The Trojans lost a Three Rivers Conference East Division game in Mendota.

Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley 61, Fieldcreset 47: TeriLynn Timmerman poured in 25 points as the Knights lost a Heart of Illinois Conference game in Gibson City.

Macy Gochanour added 12 points for Fieldcrest (14-13, 6-5 HOIC).

BOYS BASKETBALL

Earlville 45, LaMoille 34: Adam Waite had 13 points, 10 rebounds and five assists as the Red Raiders won in a Little Ten Conference Tournament consolation semifinal in Somonauk.

Easton Fruit scored 11 points and dished out six assists and Grady Harp added 10 points and nine rebounds for Earlville (11-15), which will face Somonauk in the consolation final.

Tyler Billhorn led the Lions with 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Brayden Klein contributed 12 points and five assists.
