Reddick Public Library in Ottawa has a new horror-themed book club geared to ninth through 12th graders.
Meet 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, at Jeremiah Joe Coffee’s 807 La Salle Street location to discuss this month’s theme: Snowed-In Winter. Suggestions that fit this theme will be available for check out from the Teen Room.

1 to 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 16: Mystery Monday Book Club, adults. “None of this is Trueby,” by Lisa Jewell. New members are welcome to join this librarian-led book club. Copies of the book will be available for check out from the library. Book summary: While out celebrating her birthday, true crime podcaster Alix meets a fan, Josie. After they keep bumping into each other, Josie convinces Alix that her complicated life would be perfect for her podcast. Shortly after the release of the podcast, Josie disappears.
5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 16: Dungeons & Dragons, seventh through 12th grades. Find out what quest your Dungeon Master has created for you. Will you survive? Will you accomplish your goals?
10:30 to 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17: Ready, Set, Read! Ages 3 to 6 years old. Join the library for a fun story time featuring music, movement activities, singalongs, literacy games, crafts and stories.
6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17: LEGO Club, all ages. Do you love to build with LEGOs? Then, this program is for you. The library will pick a theme and you can build your creation to match. LEGO creations will be on display in the Children’s Department.
10 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18: Shake, Rattle, Read! Ages 9 months to 3 years. Sing, dance, craft and create priceless memories at this fun interactive story time planned especially for the younger crowd.
3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18: Tropes & Treats, ninth through 12th grades. The library will lead a romance themed book club. Meet at Jeremiah Joe Coffee’s 807 La Salle Street location to discuss any romance book that fits the holiday trope. Suggested books will be available for check out in the Teen Room.
Friday, Dec. 20, through Sunday, Dec. 22: “Little Women: The Musical” performed at Park Theatre in London, Illinois Libraries Present, all ages. Get in the spirit of the season with a special virtual performance of Louisa May Alcott’s classic story of four sisters growing up in 19th-century Massachusetts in this acclaimed production at Park Theatre. Registrants will receive an email with a special link to the performance to view the performance from their home at their convenience over the three days.
