Both Ottawa and Streator’s competitive dance teams will be dancing their way down to Bloomington on Friday – and hopefully, should they qualify, Saturday – for the IHSA State Final Competition.
With a fifth-place finish in the Class 1A portion of the Mahomet-Seymour Sectional, Streator’s Streatorettes advanced for the fourth consecutive year. The team, coached by Payton Scott, includes Bella Katrein-Cinotto, Emma Devera, Katherine Bressner, Ella Park, Payton Blakemore, Brooklyn Stillwell, Madyson Proud and Lexi Patterson.
With a sixth-place finish in the Class 2A portion of the Mahomet-Seymour Sectional, Ottawa’s Pirate Poms advanced for the fifth straight year. The team, coached by Alaina Weatherford, includes Kaylee Monroe, Sienna Banushi, Macie Hart, Maggie Kidder, Raygan Hatfill, Maddie Kerestes, Rudie Fleck, Maddie Anderson, Neveah Sholders, Aubrey Maubach, Bella Hart, Maya Martin, Finley Gross, Madi Theissen, Peyton Richards, Makenzee Rausch, Sierra Harmon, Addie Landers, Michaela Flashing, Hadley Byrd, Mia Lowe, Ryann Lee, Maddy Johnson and Charli Stoudt.
The Pirate Poms are scheduled to perform at 11:07 a.m. Friday at Bloomington’s Grossinger Motors Arena.
The Streatorettes are scheduled to be the fifth team to perform Friday at the IHSA State Final Competition, taking the floor at Bloomington’s Grossinger Motors Arena at 10:31 a.m.
