Players from the Hall, Mendota, Princeton and Bureau Valley girls volleyball teams earned spots on the All-Three Rivers Conference East Division teams for their play this season.
Bureau Valley senior Kate Salisbury was one of four unanimous selections along with Newman’s Kennedy Rowzee and Jess Johns and Kewanee’s Emma Ellenberger.
Mendota senior Reanna Brant and Princeton seniors Natasha Faber-Fox and Miyah Fox also were named to the first team.
Local second-team selections were Hall senior Taylor Coutts, Mendota senior Lilly Leifheit, Princeton senior Chrissy Sierens and junior Ellie Harp and Bureau Valley senior Emma Stabler.
Hall senior Haylie Pellegrini and Bureau Valley junior Lesleigh Maynard received honorable mention.
IVCC falls to Illinois Central in men’s basketball season opener
The IVCC men’s basketball team opened the season with a 71-53 loss to Illinois Central in a nonconference game in Oglesby.
Wade Sims scored 17 points to lead the Eagles, while Qu’amar Hobbs had 12 points and Trystan Riddle added 11.
The Eagles trailed 31-19 at halftime.
IVCC returns to action Saturday at home against Madison.
