Pool had planned to stay open until Labor Day, but ‘unforeseen circumstances’ close pool

A shortage of lifeguards threatened the Marseilles Swimming Pool's ability to stay open this summer.

The Marseilles Community Swimming Pool is closing for the 2022 season.

Officials posted to the community swimming pool’s Facebook page saying: Due to unforeseen circumstances, the pool will remain closed for the remainder of the 2022 season.

The swimming pool had planned to stay open until Labor Day weekend, and had scheduled weekend swims only through August as school started.
