A handful of conferences recently released their boys and girls basketball all-conference teams for the 2021-22 seasons:
Interstate Eight
For the boys, Ottawa seniors Luke Cushing and Braiden Miller were selected to the First Team. La Salle-Peru senior John Riva was also Interstate Eight Conference First Team.
Ottawa senior Anthony Miller earned an Honorable Mention selection.
For the girls, La Salle-Peru juniors Brooklyn Ficek and Addison Duttlinger were First Team picks. Ottawa seniors Brooke Waddell, Zoe Harris and Gabi Krueger were also all First Team selections.
Sandwich junior Claire Allen was an Honorable Mention pick.
Illinois Central Eight
On the boys side, Streator seniors Jack Haynes and Jack Starkey, as well as sophomore Christian Benning, were selected to the All-ICE First Team, while Bulldogs senior Davey Rashid was named to the ICE’s All-Defensive Team.
For the girls, Streator senior Anna Hoffmeyer was an all-conference honoree.
Tri-County
On the boys side, Seneca senior Zach Pfeifer was a unanimous selection to the First Team, as well as named the conference’s Player of the Year.
Putnam County junior Jackson McDonald and Midland junior Brett Smith were also unanimous picks to the First Team, with Roanoke-Benson senior Chase Martin and Dwight junior Wyatt Thompson rounding out the first five.
Earning Second Team honors were Seneca freshman Paxton Giertz, Marquette junior Tommy Durdan, Putnam County junior Austin Mattingly as well as Midland senior Brady Hatton and junior Ryan Bella.
Selected to the Third Team were Seneca senior Noah Quigley, Putnam County senior Drake Smith, Henry-Senachwine senior Eric Garrison, Roanoke-Benson senior Joel Weber and Dwight senior Jeremy Kapper.
On the girls side, Marquette Academy senior Josie Eager was a unanimous First Team pick as well as named the conference’s Player of the Year.
Seneca junior Kennedy Hartwig, Henry-Senachwine/Lowpoint-Washburn senior Nakeita Kessling and Putnam County sophomore Ava Hatton were also unanimous selections to the First Team, with Marquette Academy sophomore Lilly Craig earning the final spot.
Collecting Second Team honors were Seneca senior Emma Smith, Dwight senior Brook Vigna, Midland senior Reghann Pyles and the Roanoke-Benson duo of senior Frannie Heckman and junior Lexi Weldon.
The Third Team selections were Marquette senior Izzy Garkey, Henry-Senachwine/Lowpoint-Washburn senior Tandyn VanEtten, Putnam County junior Gracie Ciucci, Roanoke-Benson senior Kyler Kennell and Dwight sophomore Kassy Kodat.
Three Rivers Athletic - East
For the boys, St. Bede senior Paul Hart and Bureau Valley senior Carter Salisbury were both unanimous selections to the First Team, with Princeton juniors Teegan Davis and Grady Thompson also earning First Team spots.
Earning Second Team honors were Bureau Valley senior Adam Johnson, Mendota junior Krew Bond, Hall senior Ethan Plym and junior Mac Resetich. Honorable Mention honors went to Princeton junior Kolten Monroe, St. Bede senior Luke Story, Bureau Valley senior Layton Britt, Mendota junior Rafa Romero and Hall senior Drake Garland.
For the girls, Princeton senior McKenzie Hecht and Hall sophomore McKenna Christiansen were unanimous First Team selections, with St. Bede senior Lia Bosnich, Mendota junior Reanna Brant and Princeton junior Olivia Gartin also earning First Team nods.
Grabbing Second Team spots were St. Bede senior Leah Smudzinski, Hall junior Promise Giacometti, St. Bede sophomore Ella Hernes and Bureau Valley sophomore Kate Salisbury. Honorable Mention selections were Mendota senior Paige Manning, St. Bede senior Ryann Stoudt and the Princeton duo of senior Morgan Coleman and junior Mariah Hobson.
Heart of Illinois
Fieldcrest junior Ashlyn May was a unanimous pick to the HOIC First Team, with teammates senior Ella Goodrich and junior Haley Carver earning Second Team honors. Knights sophomore Kaitlyn White was an Honorable Mention selection, while junior Carolyn Megow was named to the First Team All-Defensive squad.
Flanagan-Cornell/Woodland freshman Ella Derossett was an Honorable Mention All-HOIC selection.
