The Streator Family YMCA will host a free wellness program offering tools to manage stress.

A program, “Early Pioneers of La Salle,” will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 11 at Starved Rock State Park Visitor Center.

The council officially requested permission from the Illinois Department of Transportation to temporarily close southbound La Salle St. from Washington St. to Center St. and portions of various city streets on Saturday, May 9, and to close Albin Stevens Dr. on Friday, May 8.

The La Salle County Emergency Management Agency has cancelled the severe weather spotter training scheduled for Tuesday, March 10 at Illinois Valley Community College.

A small fire erupted Sunday night at the Root Beer Stand in Oglesby; but the owner said she put it out with a fire extinguisher and Oglesby firefighters weren’t summoned.

The hearing was set to take place at Tuesday night’s council meeting, but was scrapped beforehand and is not expected to be considered for the foreseeable future.
