A 26-year-old died in the shooting Friday in South Streator involving multiple victims, according to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.
Rene Dominic Lipumano Ramos was identified as the deceased, authorities said.
No arrests have been announced in the incident that occurred about 2 p.m. Friday near the area of 14th and South Park streets in South Streator.
Numerous patrol and detective units responded to the scene along with Streator Police Department and AMT ambulance service. Upon arrival, the scene was secured. The investigation is ongoing and is believed to be an isolated incident with no further danger to the public at this time, Livingston County Sheriff Tony Childress said. He told Shaw Media after the incident that police were interviewing individuals about the incident.
Childress anticipates further information to be released in upcoming days.
