Prosecutors are seeking to revoke the probation of an Ottawa woman who’d pleaded guilty to stabbing a man in February.
Latrice S. Wright, 37, was serving 30 months probation for aggravated battery when prosecutors allege she violated the terms of her probation on June 6 by possessing a knife, drove under the influence of alcohol and slashed someone’s tires. At the time of the alleged new offenses, she had been on probation less than three weeks.
Rather than indict Wright on new charges, prosecutors are asking Chief Judge H. Chris Ryan Jr. to revoke her probation and re-sentence her, which could mean up to 5 years in prison.
Wright will next appear July 2.
