Three state grant programs are making it possible for local students to jumpstart healthcare careers, get a head start in college and head toward new and better jobs in the workforce.

Dozens of local high school and middle school students turned out for the inaugural IVCC Eagles Run races Saturday at Illinois Valley Community College.

Comedian Amy Schwartz will perform 12:15 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, in Illinois Valley Community College’s Student Life Space. The event is open to the public.
