Centennial Elementary in Streator celebrates 100 days of learning

Students dressed as elderly people, ate snacks and did math projects involving 100

Classrooms at Centennial Elementary School spent Jan. 28 and 29 celebrating the 100th day of school.

This year especially, it seems as though there is a lot to celebrate.

Adjusting to a hybrid schedule and making it through five weeks of remote learning, teachers and students are happy to say that they made it through 100 days.

Students celebrated by dressing up as elderly people, eating an 100th day snack and doing math projects that involve the number 100.

“While students have several standards and curriculum they have to meet, I think It’s important for us as teachers to figure out how we can incorporate those standards in fun and meaningful ways for our students” said Megan Devera, a third grade teacher at Centennial.

Teachers also decorated their classrooms to celebrate the occasion.
