Splash pad opens in Ottawa; pads opening soon in Peru, Streator

With Thursday’s high temperatures in the 80s, families in La Salle County may be looking for a place to cool down and have some fun.

The splash pad in Fox River Park in Ottawa opened Thursday. Regular hours will be 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The splash pad in Washington Park in Peru is scheduled to open for the season on Saturday, May 29. Hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. with cleaning breaks from 12:30 to 1 p.m. and 3:30 to 4 p.m.

Paul’s Pad at the northeast corner of Streator City Park is scheduled to open by Memorial Day, said Mayor Jimmie Lansford.
