Photos: Light Up Streator decorates for fall

Committee invites people to take pictures in front of fire station display

Anyone looking for a new selfie spot in Streator, especially during Homecoming season, don’t worry. Light Up Streator has it covered.

Light Up Streator Committee members said they are inviting residents to take their picture in front of the new display at the Streator fire station, 108 N. Wasson St.

The new decoration designs in City Park are sponsored by Otter Creek Carriages, Luckey Distribution Services, Star Ford and the Eastwood, created by the individual sponsors and amanufactured by Dave Taylor’s welding classes at Streator High School. The corn stalks were donated by the Terry Chambers farm in Lostant.

This project started in 2019 and additional designs are welcome. The Light Up Streator committee is responsible for decorations at City Park, the Streator Fire Department, Streator City Hall and at the city’s welcome signs.
